Idea behind the logo

My approach consists of expressing the notion of support, because Intilaaqah is a program that supports the youth towards achieving their goals as successful entrepreneurs. Intilaaqah supports people by giving them the help, opportunity, and relevant teaching that enable them to become successful. At first I started researching and looking for anything that can inspire me and get me somewhere. The first image I got inspired from is an existing japanese logo which gives me a feeling of support. The logo consists of a word and a shape, the latter been engaged with one of that word’s letters. Then I have though about the idea of a hand, as another way to show support, by connecting two things together. I started to sketch the hand and outlined it, hoping that it could lead me to a better idea.

	My next step was to take this idea further by engaging two letters together and I have started playing around with the first letter of the word intilaaqah in both Arabic and English.
	After further sketching and refining, I ended up with this final logo, consisting of having two elements or letters which been combined together. My Intilaaqah’s logo characteristics such as form, shape, typeface, color and graphic elements are playful, modern, contemporary, simple, young, and attractive, thus conveying the intented look and feel. In my logo i engaged the first letter of the word “Qatar” in Arabic (?) with the first letter of the word “Qatar” in English. What I find interesting is that one of those elements are supporting the other and creating an interesting negative space between them, which better conveys the topic “support" .
